Document Review Process Items can be routed either directly to the appropriate Senate committee or to the Senate Office via the attention of the Senate Chair who then forwards them to the appropriate committee and coordinates responses. Items might be reviewed either via email or at a formal meeting of the committee. Items are usually sent out with at minimum a two week interval but also takes into account deadlines such as the Division meeting. The Executive Council has the authority to coordinate the work of all committees. The Executive Council is made up of Chairs of most of the Senate Committees and items are reviewed for information and discussion. The Division's authority and duties are defined by the Bylaws of the Academic Senate and are derived from the Standing Orders of The Regents. Final action on legislation/regulations/bylaws/policies that substantially affect the Division must be routed to the Division for a formal vote. After formal vote at the Division, the response is sent back to the originator or initiating body
